Launching in 2010, Motor City Movement took the Michigan dance community by storm with the biggest collaboration of choreographers the area had never seen. After overwhelming success and the prestigious name It has made for itself, Motor City Movement: A Collaboration of Choreographers is back for its seventh showcase. Over 20 locally and nationally recognized choreographers and dance crews come together to show off the latest and greatest choreography the Detroit dance scene has to offer through a live performance open to the public. This one of a kind dance showcase takes place at The Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac, MI on the evening of Friday, August 9th, 2013.
Several different styles of dance are represented throughout the show including hip-hop, jazz, contemporary and more. Featured artists will include professional choreographer & MCM co-founder Jill Zmijewski, the Detroit Pistons D-Town Dancers, Detroit Pride Cheerleaders, dance groups from Oakland University and Eastern Michigan University, members of The League crew and soloist Markus Shields, both featured on this season of FOX's So You Think You Can Dance. A night at MCM includes a live dance show, a cash bar, guest DJ and one of the biggest dance parties/dance jams in Metro Detroit. Hosted by local news personality Heather Zara. DJ Dayda will be keeping the dance party moving before and after the show till 2AM. The Paul Mitchell School of Sterling Heights will be guest stylists to all performers.

Show date is Friday, August 9, 2013 at The Crofoot Ballrom. Doors open at 7:30 PM. Ages 18 &up. Ticket prices are $13 in advance or $16 the night of the show.
