Introducing Jackie Stahl & The White Russians! This new Detroit band is made up of some of the hardest working musicians in the city who got together to back musician Matthew Stahl on his new musical endeavor. The band will be releasing their debut album, "Jackie does Love" with a concert at The Elizabeth Theater located upstairs at The Park Bar in Detroit on Friday, August 23 at 9:00 pm.
Opening the show is the one-man band, Man Inc. at 10pm, The White Russians take the stage at 11pm to perform their "Dirty Americana" music, and Funky D recording artists The Rumpshakers close out the night with their funky blues starting at midnight.
Jackie Stahl & The White Russians is the latest project of veteran musician Matthew Stahl whose vast work includes playing drums in the bands The Blue Collar Boys, Catfish Mafia, Bixy Lutz, and Jennifer Westwood& The Waycross Georgia Farmboys just to name a few. After learning to play the piano he began writing and recording songs in his home studio. He assembled a band of his colleagues; guitarist Greg Hanson (Bixy Lutz), guitarist Niko Eklund (The High Balls), bassist Paul Randolph (Jazzanova), and drummer Todd Glass of The Muggs join him on his new musical journey.
The band plays what they describe as "Dirty Americana" music, influenced by Detroit rock, country, blues, jazz, and soul. The CD, "Jackie does Love," was engineered and produced by Stahl and recorded in his studio The Ledge. Bluesman Motor City Josh lent his hand and co-mixed the album at The Sound Shop Studio.
