UPCOMING: More funny than you can handle, 1 Sept @ DTE Energy Music Theater

Posted on 00:00 by Unknown
Hey, maybe this time Jim Jefferies will figure out how to be funny without rape jokes! Let's hope so!
If not, Flight of the Conchords will totally make up for it.

FUNNY OR DIE PRESENTS THE ODDBALL COMEDY & CURIOSITY FESTIVAL
Featuring Dave Chappelle, Flight of the Conchords and More
SEP 1 , 2013
DTE ENERGY MUSIC THEATRE

Funny Or Die presents The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, featuring Dave Chappelle, Flight of the Conchords, along with Al Madrigal, Brody Steven, Chris D’Elia, Demetri Martin, Hannibal Buress, Jim Jefferies, John Mulaney, Kristen Schaal, and many more at DTE Energy Music Theatre Sept. 1 at 5:15 p.m.

Tickets at $97, $77 and $47 in the pavilion, $29.50 on the lawn and $99 lawn four-packs go on sale at 10 a.m., June 21 at Palacenet.com, Livenation.com, The Palace and DTE Energy Music Theatre Ticket Stores and all Ticketmaster locations, including The Locker Room Store at Great Lakes Crossing. Tickets may be also charged by phone to American Express, Discover, Visa and MasterCard by calling 800.745.3000. There are a limited number of $20 lawn tickets available during the first weekend the show goes on sale.

The 13-city trek is the largest outdoor comedy tour ever promoted by Live Nation with two stages, street performers, vendors, psychics, “freaks,” food and more. “It took the extraordinary talents of Dave Chappelle and Flight of The Conchords’ Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement to create such an amazing night for comedy fans in such incredible summertime venues,” said Geof Wills, president of Live Nation Comedy.

“We always love to push the comedy boundaries at Funny Or Die and this festival will do just that,” said Dick Glover, CEO of Funny Or Die. “It’s the perfect blend of comedy and crazy that will for sure resonate with comedy fans looking for a one of a kind experience.”

Dave Chappelle is without a doubt one of the most distinctive voices working in comedy today. His 2003, boundary – bashing television series, Chappelle’s Show, catapulted the comic into international stardom. Since leaving the show, Chappelle has continued to work rooms from New York to Los Angeles and everywhere in between, often dropping in unannounced to the delight of comedy fans.

Flight of The Conchords has become one of the world’s favorite comedy and musical acts over their 15-year span. After starting in stand-up, Bret and Jemaine hit the global stage with their acclaimed HBO comedy series Flight Of The Conchords. The series earned 10 Emmy Nominations and a WGA nomination for Best Comedy series. Bret served as music supervisor for The Muppets movie and won the Best Original Song Oscar for his composition, Man Or Muppet. Jemaine was recently featured in Men In Black III. The duo’s infectious live performances of well-known songs like “Business Time,” “Too Many Dicks on the Dancefloor,” and “Fashion of Danger,” have made them a favorite of concert audiences all over the world.
